LED street lamps have the characteristics of low power consumption, high light efficiency, long life, energy saving and environmental protection, etc., and have gradually eliminated the traditional street lamps and become the “main force” of road lighting.  Street lamps have a long time to turn on, and are installed outdoors,
exposed to the sun and rain, so the quality of lamps and lanterns  requirements must be up to standard.  Otherwise, the lamp damage, will pose a threat to road safety.  Therefore, no matter enterprises, institutions or engineering companies need to be careful when purchasing street lamps to avoid falling into the procurement trap.

Trap one Counterfeit chips, low-end chips
The core of LED lamps and lanterns is the chip, which directly determines the performance of lamps and lanterns!  However, some bad manufacturers take advantage of customers’ unprofessional, considering the cost , use low-price chips, so that customers can buy low-quality products with high unit price, resulting in direct economic losses, and cause serious quality hidden trouble for LED lamps and lanterns.

Trap three heat dissipation design is poor, unreasonable configuration  
In terms of heat dissipation design, the life of semiconductor devices will decrease by multiple if the PN junction temperature of LED chip increases by 10 degrees.  Due to the high brightness requirements of LED solar street lamps and the harsh use environment, if the heat dissipation is not solved properly, it will rapidly lead to LED aging and reduced stability.  In addition, unreasonable configuration often leads to the specific use of less than expected value.

Trap four copper wire posing as gold wire and controller problems  
Many LED manufacturers are trying to develop copper alloy, gold-coated silver alloy wire, silver alloy wire to replace the expensive gold wire.  Although these alternatives are superior to gold wire in some properties, they are much less stable in terms of chemical stability. For example, silver wire and gold-coated silver alloy wire are prone to sulfur/chlorine/bromine corrosion, and copper wire is prone to oxidative vulcanization.  For encapsulated silica gel, which is similar to a water-absorbing and breathable sponge, these alternatives make the bonding wires more vulnerable to chemical corrosion, the reliability of the light source is reduced, and the LED lamp bead is more likely to break over time.  
 Solar street lamp controller, if there is a failure of the controller, in the process of testing and inspection, there will cause the phenomenon with ”the whole light out”, “on and off the light is not timely”, “partial damage”, “individual LED lamp break”, “the whole light flicker bright” etc. 
When purchasing, the first is the optical decay detection report, which is a very important link.  When bidding, each company will provide different units of light failure test report, some provide their own company self-test, there are some third party test, although the test report here is good, The actual decline of light is vastly different, the reason is known, so how to discern the real product?
The test report is first accredited by the Semiconductor Alliance.  Such as Beijing Electric light source Quality Supervision and inspection Center, Shanghai Electric light source Quality Supervision and Inspection Center, semiconductor 13 institute, etc., from these units of the light failure test report has credibility, the street lamp used for road lighting high power, the heat generated by the light failure test shows two problems: light failure qualified, power supply clearance.  If a street lamp can’t pass the test in the lab, can it still be good on the road?  
Street lamp structure has passed the test of road light failure, the structure is a big problem.  This problem is rarely paid attention to in the industry, which is also one of the main reasons for the large light decline in the actual use of street lamps.  
As we all know, the national haze area is so large, it not only harm people’s body, but also cause the decline of the road lights, especially in the northern region, dust, haze, after a short period of outdoor use, the entire street light surface covered with dust, its cooling effect is greatly reduced.  This is also one of the main culprits that LED street lights are not known to the public.  
According to this kind of circumstance, on lamps and lanterns design must be fluctuation fully.  Double increase the heat dissipation area, because there is no street lamp management department will clean the radiator on time, in the long-term use they can only rely on rain washing, When the area is increased, the effective cooling area caused by pollution is reduced.  .  
Heat dissipation road lighting failure has barrel effect,there is a short board is not good, Light failure bothering you so many years, the problem here is that you do lamps and lanterns of the radiator can solve droop, no, we start to talk about in the past use low-power chips encapsulation shell type, but not a high-power chips, said chip power heat scattered not to go out, not like that,  COB packaging heat is more concentrated, through aluminum or copper supports can completely solve the thermal conductivity problem.

However, light failure is more difficult to control, the reason is that the radiator can not necessarily solve the problem of light failure of the light source. There is a great misunderstanding in the packaging of the light source. The silica gel of the COB light source is too thick, so the silica gel should be packaged as thin as possible to facilitate the heat dissipation of the chip luminous surface.
